Alexandros, or more affectionately known as 'Alex', was born to a young couple, not nearly ready for the consequences of their actions. It was mere minutes after he was born, that he was taken away from his birth mother and put into the care of a couple that were ready and able to take care of the newborn. For this, the Costas were eternally grateful. With all the hardship brought on by the ups & downs of trying to conceive - only to find out that Anastacia was barren - made it all the more precious to them when Alex arrived into the world.
Alex grew up modestly in a two bedroom detached home in Athens, far up in the hills surrounded by not much of anything except for greenery. It wasn't that the family couldn't afford anything bigger or nicer, but they were content where they were. Alex grew up being reminded that home is where your heart is, and for the Costas, that was with one another.
Much of his time was spent outdoors; the family had a cluster of animals to tend to - goats, chickens, two dogs and a cat - and he often helped with the chores of milking the goats and rescuing the eggs from the hen houses and playing fetch with the dogs. It took a lot of coaxing to get Alex back indoors or to stay put in one spot long enough. Dinner was an event, as the boy would take one bite and have to run around before settling down again. He was an energetic one, his parents would always tell their neighbors and eventually his teachers, but they didn't see it as anything worth getting worked up over. He was happy, healthy, and loved and that was all that mattered to them.
Shortly after Alex's 17th birthday, the Costas made a life changing decision to uproot their small family to the united states. They loved their homes and would miss their families, but they wanted a change and though Alex would be leaving his friends behind, he looked forward to the opportunity to explore what he could and gave little trouble when the moment came for them to say their goodbyes.
In his short time on Earth, and even to this day, Alex would be the first to tell you that there was no place like New York. Not in this whole world. Admittedly, when he first moved there, it was hard for him to even catch his breath. It was constantly buzzing with people, stop and go, and it was easy to get swept up into it all. But as time went on, Alex began to learn the unspoken rules and grew accustomed to the hustle, rather than let the shoes of the many trample all over him.
Four years prior, on Alex's 25th birthday, he was stopped on his way to work at the restaurant that his parent's opened, and asked if he were interested in modelling. He didn't believe them at first, he knew that there were many people out there looking to rip someone off for a quick dollar, but after a bit of persuasion, Alex took the offer to attend a casting call. Initially, he was shot down, but it sparked an interest within him that led him to attending more casting calls until finally, an agency, was willing to give him a shot.
The gigs Alex received through the agency paid him well enough that he was able to support himself and pay for school. It wasn't a four year college, but a technical school so that he could learn to work on cars for when he wasn't in front of the lens. With a few marketable skills under his belt and his name in a few editorials, Alex has been cutting back on his day job(s) to persue more gigs, Alex still takes time to make sure he hasn't let any of it go to his head, and still helps out at his parent's restaurant as a bartender and the mechanics down the road, fixing bikes and slowly but surely, building one of his own.
